Always-on between uploads

24/7 Livestream Kit

The permanent stream that keeps the audience engaged between videos β€” ticker copy, content rotation, gear, and the off-grid challenge.

01

The concept

A permanent 24/7 stream that keeps the audience engaged in the gaps between uploads. When there's no new video, the channel still feels alive β€” there's always something on.

Content rotation

previous videos β†’ project updates β†’ promotional clips β†’ countdown timers β†’ music β†’ scrolling info ticker β†’ (loop)
  • Previous videos β€” replays of the back catalogue so new viewers can catch up.
  • Project updates β€” short status segments on the dome, the farm, the builds.
  • Promotional clips β€” teasers and highlights for upcoming content.
  • Timers β€” countdowns to the next upload / livestream.
  • Music β€” a low-key bed under the loop.
  • Scrolling info ticker β€” the always-on text crawl describing the channel.
  • Later: live event coverage streamed in from the van.

The constraint

Must not cannibalise the long-form uploads β€” those are the real engine. And it needs a content-rotation pipeline so the loop doesn't go stale.

When it runs & how it's prepped

The 24/7 loop runs across the 100-day build (Jul 6 – Oct 14 2026), with a nightly 1-hour livestream on the second channel. The run-sheet, 9 per-category prep packs and the nightly to-do list live on the Schedule (stream-playbook + follow-ups).
02

Ticker copy

The scrolling text crawl that runs under the stream, kept verbatim so it can be dropped straight into the broadcast graphics. Two versions: a short loop-friendly cut and the full statement.

Short (recommended for looping)

Full

Welcome to the live test stream! This channel is all about building, creating, and exploring new ideasβ€”from engineering projects, atmospheric water generation, farming, and chicken breeding to skateboarding, automotive builds, web development, tech experiments, livestreaming setups, sports cards, and everything in between. Follow along as concepts become real-world projects through hands-on testing, problem-solving, and continuous learning. New videos, livestreams, and behind-the-scenes content are always in development. Thanks for being part of the journey and supporting independent Australian content creation.

The intermission commercial

A cinematic 1-minute commercial loops as the intermission between rotation segments β€” six scenes carrying the whole story arc in a minute:

  1. Drought β€” the dry land, the problem.
  2. The idea β€” the spark, the concept forming.
  3. Dome reveal β€” the machine, unveiled.
  4. The work / fabrication β€” hands-on building and testing.
  5. Farm life β€” the living, breathing result.
  6. Sunrise + call to action β€” the hopeful close.

The full commercial script is in First Scripts.

Streaming gear

The hardware chain that feeds the stream β€” wireless transmission from the field into the broadcast PC, with several cameras and a drone for aerials.

DeviceRole

CamerasPanasonic HC-VX1 / Osmo Pocket 4 / GoPro

The full gear list has the complete inventory and specs.

Off-grid streaming

Off-grid and wireless streaming tests run on the property feed directly into the stream β€” proving the rig can broadcast from anywhere on the farm, not just from a desk.

  • Off-grid power setup β€” running the streaming chain without mains power.
  • Wireless range on the farm β€” how far the Mars 4K link holds across the property.
  • Portable rigs β€” packable kits that can move with the action.

The challenge

Reliable off-grid POWER + CONNECTIVITY for true 24/7 uptime is hard. The stream can't drop, so both power and signal have to hold continuously and unattended.

Where it fits

The stream is the glue between the weekly main uploads β€” viewers can drop in any time and feel the project is alive, even on days with no new video. It keeps the channel warm between releases.

It also previews the eventual livestream-van build for events β€” the same rig, made mobile, taking live coverage on the road.
