The format decision
Three directions were weighed for what kind of channel Atmosfarm should be. Each had a clear strength and a clear failure mode.
| Direction | Strengths | Risks |
|---|---|---|
| Cinematic documentary | Reflective narration, slow pacing, emotional, premium feel | Huge editing load; emotionally heavy; hard to sustain; can become self-serious |
| Raw inventor / builder | Workshop energy, experiments, prototypes, failures β may be the strongest natural lane because the creator's life already has texture | Can feel scrappy if it never lifts into something cinematic |
| Creator / personality hybrid | Casey Neistat / skate-creator energy β projects + life + skating + pizza shop + concrete + containers + business; energetic, authentic | Risk of feeling unfocused if the through-line isn't clear |
The decision
Settled on a "cinematic builder journal" β visually strong but natural, rough around the edges, not an A24 grief documentary. The key realisation: you do not need to explain your whole life in Episode 1. There are years of story material. Episode 1 was cut from an 18β22 min life-story doc down to a natural ~10β14 min "Starting Atmosfarm." See the full Episode 1 + commercial scripts. Two films at launch
Don't confuse the two launch films: Episode 1 "Starting Atmosfarm" is the ~10β14 min channel intro, while the flagship "I Built a Dome in 100 Days" is the separate 100-day build retrospective (scripted in the Schedule). Both premiere on Oct 14; the weekly cadence below is for the ongoing uploads after launch. The full content slate
The first-20 plan below is one strand. Across the channel: the main video (Episode 1) Β· the flagship documentary Β· 14 weekly build videos (one per build week β additional to the main video) Β· 14 weekly timelapses + a full-build master timelapse (all on the Main channel) Β· the 20 topic videos Β· the trailer + Vision video. The 125-item creative backlog and what drops when are on the Schedule.Content pillars
The channel runs on a small set of recurring pillars. The audience follows the creator, not a single niche β that is what lets these sit on one channel without feeling scattered.
- Engineering Projects β the build work and experiments
- The Dome β the flagship project and spine of the channel
- Technology β tools, software, websites, livestream rigs
- Skateboarding β skating, road trips, parks
- Automotive β vehicle projects and the van build
- Farming β the land, chickens, expansion
- Livestreaming β the 24/7 stream and the community around it
The first 20 videos
The launch roadmap, in order. This is the sequence that takes the channel from "introducing it" through the dome arc and into the wider creator life.
- Introducing the channel
- Explaining the dome project
- Building the first dome prototype
- Testing airflow concepts
- Designing the Venturi system
- Building turbine components
- Blade testing
- Water integration concepts
- Building a working prototype
- Buying a van for livestreaming
- Planning the van build
- Creating the creator website
- Building thumbnail tools
- Channel branding and logo creation
- Starting the 24/7 livestream
- Chicken breeding setup
- Farm expansion plans
- South Australian skatepark road trip
- Automotive project episode
- Future vision for the channel
Weekly posting schedule
The schedule is built around a real working week β concreting and pizza shifts set the energy budget, so the heavy work lands when there's room for it.
| Day | Focus |
|---|---|
| Sunday | MAIN FILMING DAY β "Atmosfarm Day." Talking sections, walkthroughs, cinematic + prototype shots, drone, render recordings, thumbnail photography, night atmosphere. |
| Monday | Organise + ingest footage, backups, rough assembly, comments (low energy after concreting). |
| Tuesday | Short-form β 1 TikTok + 1 Reel + 1 Short. |
| Wednesday | Editing night / deep work on the main episode. |
| Thursday | Community / website / admin β Telegram, Reddit, thumbnails, titles, comments. |
| Friday | Light content only (pizza work). |
| Saturday | No major expectations (pizza shift) β maybe a night clip. |
Real availability (what the plan is built on)
Concreting MonβFri ~5:30amβ3pm; pizza Fri & Sat nights (leaves home ~2:30pm Sat). So the genuinely free windows are MonβThu evenings, Sat mornings (~7amβ2pm) and all day Sunday β Fridays are off. Dawn / sunrise shots have to be weekend mornings. The full day-by-day version is on the Schedule.Upload window
The main video uploads Sunday night OR Monday night, once it's assembled and edited from the weekend shoot.Ideal weekly output
The engine vs. the discovery tools
The main video is the engine β shorts are discovery tools. Don't become a shorts channel; long-form builds watch hours, returning viewers, long-term revenue potential and real community.First 4-week rhythm
The opening month, mapped episode-by-episode with the short-form that feeds each one.
| Week | Main episode | Shorts |
|---|---|---|
| W1 | "Starting Atmosfarm" | Dome render clip / setup walkthrough / airflow sketch |
| W2 | "Building first airflow prototype" | Fan testing / Venturi concepts / workshop chaos |
| W3 | "Testing airflow systems" | Failures / weird sounds / airflow visualisation |
| W4 | "Can this actually generate water?" | Condensation tests / humidity discussion / prototype clips |

The launch goal
"Start the engine." Launch fast, don't overbuild before uploading. Getting the channel moving matters more than getting it perfect.- Sustainable over maximum β a rhythm that survives a working life beats a burst that burns out.
- Consistency > upload count β showing up reliably is worth more than chasing volume.
- Viewers should feel they're following a real, evolving mission, not consuming disposable content.
